It’s a boy for pop music diva, Cher! Former daughter Chastity (her dad was the late singer/comedian/ politician Sonny Bono) has undergone a sex change (aka ‘gender reassignment’) surgery and is now Mr. Chaz Bono.
Recent pics of the newly transformed celebrity offspring show a very happy, healthy looking guy. Chaz looks younger than his 40 years. He’s been quoted as saying that he “always felt male” and has openly discussed the long and thoughtful process he considered well before undergoing surgery.
Chaz has been dating girlfriend Jennifer Elia for 4 years. Jennifer, who apparently used to be a lesbian, has supported Chaz throughout the process of his surgeries. Resources say the couple couldn’t be happier. Celebrity mom Cher has been just as supportive of her son, saying that her love for her child (no matter what gender) is unconditional. If I had Cher for a mom, I’m not sure I’d want to be a woman either. Even in her old age, she’s pretty hot. That’s a lot of femininity to live up to!

Stephen Stills, famed rock guitarist, is currently focusing on solo projects and much-anticipated archival releases. Earlier this fall he put out a collection, ‘Pieces’ which excerpts work from his band, Manassas. Today marks the debut of ‘Live at Shepherd’s Bush,’ Stills’ CD/DVD set from his 2008 solo tour.
Stills opted to put his projects out in affordable bite sized pieces, taking into consideration the existing market economy and wanting to make the releases affordable for fans. In addition to the financial thoughtfulness, there’s obviously the benefit of themed continuity in not forcing creations from different eras and assorted pairings into one massively convoluted (and costly) collection.
More archival projects are to come. Stills talks about working with the Experience Hendrix company; he and Jimi made a couple of brief recordings together back in the day. Along with resurrecting the old, Stills makes room for new creations as well; he continues to play with Crosby and Nash and plans to put together a follow up album to his ’05 release, ‘Man Alive.’ Stills’ music still has a lot to say after all these years.
College student Morgan Harrington was vibrant, well liked, creative, and a big Metallica fan. The 20-year-old student went missing following a Metallica concert at Virginia Tech last week. Hearing the news of Morgan’s disappearance, the heavy metal rock band immediately contributed $50,000 to the reward fund, hoping to find information that will help locate the girl.
FBI investigators haven’t found many clues thus far. Morgan went to the concert with friends. She became separated while they were leaving and told the friends on her cell phone that she would find her own way home. This seems like a strange thing for a young girl to do late at night, though no reports have disclosed any altercation with the group that accompanied her that evening. Her parents, Dan and Gil Harrington, are working to keep media and public focus on their daughter’s disappearance.
Police did find Morgan’s purse and cell phone in a parking lot the next day. If you have any information about this case, please contact the Virginia authorities immediately. Morgan's photo is found on this attached link from the CBS news site.
Fans waited for hours, some even overnight, to get their $61 ticket for Taylor Swift’s upcoming Corpus Christi concert. The event, scheduled for 7 pm March 12, 2010, sold out in one swift hour! Kellie Pickler (who doesn’t love this sweet, sassy American Idol alumni?) and Gloriana will open for Swift.
No need to get discouraged though! If you missed out on nabbing any of the much sought-after tickets, word is that promoters are very likely to open up more seats as the event date draws closer. Keep in mind, too, that single-seat tickets still available. In rejection of the single seat option, I’ve often heard people say, “I don’t want to go alone.” Have you really ever been to a concert where you were alone? It actually might be a fun way to meet a new friend.
If you’re brave enough to snap up one of the single seats, that means you really want to see the concert! If you prefer to wait and see what else opens up, keep your eyes and ears open and try to get in on the few that open up in February or March 2010. Check in with Ticketmaster.com or H.E.B stores in Corpus Christi, Texas. Good luck, fans!
