How Much Is That Doggy In The Coyote?

17 September, 2009

Jessica Simpson has sent a plea to Americans to help her find her dog. We probably need a vet capable of performing an autopsy to take care of the starlet's request.

Apparently, a coyote snatched it right in front of her. She’s posted a picture of the doggy (in its pre-digested form) and is begging for the public’s assistance.

Obviously, there are a couple of problems. One, she didn’t state where in the US this happened. Second, the dog was taken by a coyote. Coyotes don’t take small animals to keep as pets or put to work in sweat shops. I’m sorry for her loss, but I’m afraid she may have become the subject of a new blonde joke. If people aren’t too busy still talking about Kanye.

Mad Libs Meets Kanye West

16 September, 2009

The Kanye story has reached a new level. Or is that a new low?

On top of all of the articles, blogs, phone calls, interviews, and even a presidential comment, the proof that this is the biggest story of the month is a web game called the Kanye West Apology Generator. Just plug in your own nouns, verbs and celebrity names and you too can produce a meaningless text-style apology just like Kanye! Of course, I’m not sure how much longer I’ll enjoy the game. The novelty of the situation has worn off. I wonder what stupid thing I have to do to get my own game like that?

A Classless Act - Kanye West's Last Stand

15 September, 2009

This wouldn’t be much of a blog without a comment or two about the Kanye West controversy.

Before the VMAs were done, even Kanye himself had blogged about it. He said he was sorry for what he had done (stealing the mic and the limelight from Taylor Swift), but that he was being real, and though he was admittedly rude, he’s a self-defined 'fan' of real pop culture.

What? Is that not the sorriest example of an apology you’ve ever heard? People are upset, not just because they are fans of Taylor Swift, but because his behavior was so blatantly disrespectful. This half-hearted apology proves only that he is as classless as he acted.

Lily Allen Named GQ Woman of the Year

14 September, 2009

Controversial pop singer Lily Allen was named GQ’s Woman of the Year. Her response to this award? “…For once I think you guys might be right…. It’s a great comfort for me to know that I am the best.”

I guess we can’t expect anything else from the woman who sings songs like It’s Not Me, It’s You. Now what exactly has she done to warrant the woman of the year title? Is it her political statements in her song? Her social commentary? Or maybe it’s just her undying sense of self-confidence. That makes her either endearing or annoying but always completely Lily Allen.

Hate Never Sounded So Good

11 September, 2009

Having a bad day? I’ve got the song for you! Pop/punk/indie/rock band Say Anything has recently released the cheery song Hate Everyone. If you are feeling irritated, you can get out frustrations by singing along. “…Of all these angry people in this world … I am the angriest boy … I hate everyone upon this cursed earth.” My favorite video moment is when one of the band members, after showing his angst by smashing and vandalizing, is whimpering over the cut on his elbow Is it twisted that this song makes me happy? With its catchy sound you may find yourself enjoying it, too.
