One of the best heavy metal tours of the spring gets underway in March! The Atticus Metal Tour II gets underway on March 4th at The Crossing in Palmdale, California. Bring your attitude, bring your mosh, and get ready for one of the sickest shows of the year!
East coast hardcore Unearth headlines this year’s Atticus Metal Tour. Their abrasive, strident sound and stage show should absolutely set the tone, right out of the gate. On tour with Unearth for all for all 30 shows are: Stick to Your Guns, Veil of Maya, The Ghost Inside, and Carnifex. Joining the throwdown on selected dates are Darkest Hour, Stray from the Path, and Your Demise.
The tour will winds its way from west to east making stops in California, Utah, Arizona, Texas, Florida, and several other stops, including their final show on April 4th in Worcester, Massachusetts, hometown of Unearth.

Half a decade and several producers later, Hole finally emerges from the studio set to release their first album since 2004, Nobody’s Daughter.
Say what you will about Courtney Love and her band, Hole, but I’m damned excited to hear this latest album. America’s Sweetheart was Love’s last release, six years ago, and it’s been a decade since Hole released anything. Honestly, it’s been too many years an all accounts. The new CD is due to hit stores on April 27th.
Love has said the new CD deals with issues of greed and vengeance, and after five years in the studio it’s quite possible those two ideas have matured and will be visceral in their impact. We’ll follow this one closer to the finish line, and as soon as new music is available I’ll get the word out! I’m excited, are you?

If you are an Indianapolis Colts fan, then the Super Bowl got off to a great start. Saints fans were having a different experience in the first half of the game. I’m sure The Who concert at halftime was exactly what they needed to take their minds off the game for a few minutes and raise their spirits.
The Who launched their halftime show with a couple of minutes of Pinball Wizard, and then let rip with Baba O’Riley for a solid five minutes, reminding us about teenage wastelands just like they’ve done for decades. Roger Daltrey was completely in control of his 65-year old voice, and Pete Townshend never looked better on guitar.
They segued directly into Who Are You and let rip an awesome light and laser show around the stage. They offered up a brief snippet of See Me/Feel Me from Tommy, and then wailed their finale with Won’t Get Fooled Again. I think it was the last song that inspired the Saints in the second half!
No one is pretending Daltrey and Townshend are still in their rock and roll prime, but it’s clear they’re far from done. The Who easily provided one of the best Super Bowl halftime shows ever! Entertainment writer Sadie Ray points out that the duration of Super Bowl halftime conerts is ideal for ADD fans, too (that statistic probably encompasses a lot of us).

Yes, we’re talking about My Generation! A band I grew up listening to, The Who, will no doubt treat Super Bowl XLIV attendees to a show that many will cherish for a lifetime; many fans have been waiting a lifetime to finally see The Who in concert.
The Who, comprised of remaining original members Roger Daltrey (age 65) and Pete Townshend (age 64), certainly have fewer concerts left in them than they once had. Those people fortunate to see them live this weekend at the Super Bowl in Miami, Florida should count themselves among the “super” lucky.
Townshend said they’ll be doing an entirely appropriate “mashup” of “Baba O’Riley”, “Pinball Wizard”, “Tommy”, “Who Are You”, and “Won’t Get Fooled Again”. Sound familiar? For rock fans everywhere, the answer is, of course, YES!
For fans of the CSI franchise of television shows that air on CBS, broadcaster of this year’s Super Bowl, you’ll recognize three of those songs as the theme music for CSI (Who Are You), CSI: Miami (Won’t Get Fooled Again), and CSI: NY (Baba O’Riley).
Very clever of the wily ol’ rockers! Very clever indeed! Rock on this weekend everyone, rock on!
Lady Gaga and her totally awesome and decadent costumes may have stolen the visual part of the Grammys, but when the dust settled, Beyonce put her money where her mouth is. After all, the Grammys are about the music, not the costumes.
Beyonce took home 6 Grammys Sunday night, surpassing the 5-award night she had back in 2004, and getting in league with the likes of Norah Jones, Alicia Keyes, Lauryn Hill, Amy Winehouse, and Alison Krauss. With her six wins Sunday she’s the only female artist to earn that many Grammys on one night.
In addition to her Song of the Year Grammy, Beyonce won the songwriting Grammy for "Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It), and Best R&B Contemporary Album for I Am ... Sasha Fierce.
The southern rock group, Kings of Leon, won Record of the Year with Use Somebody, edging out Taylor Swift's You Belong With Me, Lady Gaga's Poker Face, and the Black Eyed Peas' I Gotta Feeling.
